Petition for fair judging for DJ's

The latest announcement of a DJ talent show has fuelled a lot comments from many professional DJ's.  The talent show, unless taken seriously will turn the DJ'ing community into a mickey-take with untalented people who can mix on their laptop's for instance to get through just for entertainment purposes.

By signing this petition, you agree to wanting a fair judging panel with professional DJ's who know the ins and outs of the DJ'ing community in order to have a fair and effective talent show.

Please sign and leave comments in the section below this post.

  1. TOTALLY AGREE ! WOOT. Judges lack knowledge about djing and its industry. It will be kinda unfair.

  2. Yep im with you on this, don't think they live in the real world half of them. Also agree with Lectrick, judges totally lack knowledge when it comes to djing and raw hard talent.

  3. If bill gates gave me all his money I would hire Simon Cowell to be a judge on my new show "Britains got hard men" in which he would spend 12 weeks filtering out a group of 10 of the roughest toughest assholes the uk has to offer and at the end of it, I'd get ant and dec to be like congratulations Simon, you have picked the group of men that are now going to gang rape you repeatedly over the next 5 days. He would then be dragged to a hotel room, bound, and his punishment administered.

  4. As far as djing goes, there is only 1 competition that can showcase "Worlds Best" Djs and thats DMC. Simon Cowell is totally waste if he thinks Cheryl Cole can judge something like this. There are NO club djs, record labels, artists, producers etc that have enough knowledge to judge this sort of competition. Only those who are or have been involved with DMC comps can judge.

  5. It's a bad idea, it won't be done properly or with any integrity. I am totally against it.

  6. This is the most ridiculous concept for a tv show I have ever heard. Any credible DJ wouldn't touch this with a barge pole.

I Think its a complete waste of time, when u know mans with pre recoreded dj sets will roll up, or them laptop dj's who have more of a advantage to normal cd dj's. I.e they can instantly cue tracks super fast and dont have to worry about deck not reading their next cds etc. Anyway how its gonna be done.
Everyone gets a 15min mix or sample for their showcase, more like 5mins i'll say.
Plus if you probably play urban music youve got no chance I bet!
