Bass In Ya Face: The Loudest In Bass, Dubstep and Drum & Bass

Follow @rub_a_duck & @BlackHoleRec. Purchase on iTunes.

It's without a doubt that since its conception, Rub A Duck has lined up an impressive roster of high ranking artists and released an impressive string of absolutely banging singles. The proof is not in the pudding but in the productions; comprehensively brought together in the not-to-miss compilation "Bass In Ya Face: The Loudest In Bass, Dubstep and Drum 'n' Bass".

For those who don't like to compromise on the music they listen and dance to, Rub A Duck focused on a track listing of industrial strength dubstep, drum 'n' bass and electro for this release. As the best confirmation that the imprint is on the right track to a wide audience, the India based producer Sound Avtar won India's MyFavAward in the category Best Drum 'n' Bass/Dubstep producer. Sound Avtar, who released bomb tracks like "1Up", "Monster On A Rope" and the Vertigo EP with Phoenyx, features on this compilation with his smash hit "Cursed".

Other acts that have earned their props are Sickflip & RT, Skreamin Colours (the collaboration between Simon Tagg, Freak Power's Ashley Slater and Pendulum guitarist Peredur Ap Gwynedd who recently released their killer hit "Nothing" with Scarlett Quinn), La'Reda, Relay & Front, Bobina (whose single "Slow MMXXIII" receives a massive drumstep overhaul in the L Plus Remix), Hectic and many, many more. Exclusive to "Bass In Ya Face" is the previously unreleased Azzeration Remix of "Feels Like Yesterday" by Franky Nuts featuring Staf Eggermont, driving the original version deep into the realm of rockhard electro.

Rub A Duck's "Bass In Ya Face: The Loudest In Bass, Dubstep and Drum 'n' Bass" is the ultimate test for the bass bins of your audio system and the stamina of the people in the clubs. Strap yourself in for serious drops while the bass lines shake the floor, topped off with some tight electro.

DrDr - Addicted (Polkadot Remix)

Follow @championrecords.

Addicted (Radio Edit) out now on iTunesForthcoming remixes from Bwana, Polkadot, Aaron Lipsett & Maths Time Joy. "No Compromise EP" out 24th March 2013.

Hailing from Brighton, DrDr are comprised of producers, Chris Campbell and Joe Woods and female vocalist Donna Curson. Taking influence from the likes of Burial, Sbtrkt, Massive Attack, Miss Dynamite, Rustie and The xx, they describe their sound as falling somewhere in between Future Garage, Post-Dubstep and Electronica.

Having remixed the likes of Major Lazer, The xx and Kissy Sell-Out, they have already established a cult online following, seducing fans with their penchant for early 00’s garage beats and soulful RnB style vocals. With their tracks featuring in the Hype Machine charts last year, followers and fans continue to grow by the day.

Lead single off the EP - ‘Addicted’ is an anthem in the making, with vocalist Donna Curson’s catchy hooks and unique tone complementing the driving future garage beat. Brimming with cross-over potential, it’s a tale of modern-day love and the conflicts of addiction in the early stages of a relationship. Next track ‘Disguise’ continues their trademark infectious bassy hooks, infused with future-soul vocals and final track ‘Goodbye’ completes the EP with an anthemic power track reminiscent to the early DJ Luck and MC Neat compilations juxtaposed with futuristic bass-drenched cyber-pop epic beats.

Four massive remixes on lead single ‘Addicted’ come courtesy of, highly revered Canadian producer Bwana, 18 year old up-coming producer Polkadot from Champion’s sister label MadTech, Bass producer Aaron Lipsett who recently smashed Clean Bandit’s single ‘Nightingale’ on Black Butter, and talented producer Maths Time Joy who reworks the track into a sensual, down-tempo style.

DrDr have had an incredibly busy year gigging across the UK supporting some of their favorite artists, such as Skream, Dismantle, So Solid Crew, DJ EZ and Breakage. In the upcoming months DrDr will play Brighton’s infamous Concorde 2 supporting Dark Sky, BrEaCh and T.Williams on March 1st, Brixton Jamm on March 29th supporting Saints Don’t Sleep and will play alongside Wolf Cub at Tram & Social on April 5th.

DrDR are keeping their heads above the mainstream water, soulful, heartfelt and addictive, they are a formidable force in the current future bass/garage scene. Ones to watch for 2013.

Interview with Shvona Lavette‏

Follow @ShvonaLavette and purchase the Gossamer EP.

Shvona Lavette - the Queens, New York native excelled in the arts at an early age.  The actress/sing-songwriter was classically trained at Manhattan's American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, New York.  Despite a rapidly ascending profile in front of the camera as a skilled actress, Shvona remained intent on making her musical dreams a reality. In 2011, she joined the roster with Snoop and Far East Movement at Stampede Management.

When and how did you realise you wanted to become a singer?
As a little girl from Far Rockaway, Queens, New York I knew I wanted to be a performer--period. I took acting classes and wrote my own music on my Casio piano I received from my grandmother one Christmas.

Who are your influences in music?
Some of my favorite music influences are Patti Labelle, Tina Marie, Madonna, Prince and Fiona Apple.

What are your favourite tracks?
Right now, I adore Frank Ocean (as we all do). I'm also listening to Field Music mainly the track  "Let's Write a Book" and I'm listening to a lot of world music these days.

What does music mean to you?
Music is my freedom. Throughout my childhood and teenage years there were specific songs that spark cherished memories. That is the power of music.

Where do you find inspiration when writing songs?
When I'm writing music I am inspired by either my own story or someone else's story that has touched me enough to inspire my lyrics. Travel, weather, and pure emotion keep me inspired as well.

Tell us about Gossomer and what it was like to work with DJ Plastician
Gossamer is my latest work. Its sultry sound and heavy bass is inspired by that English sound and you can download it on my site ShvonaLavetteMusic.com. I had the pleasure of working with DJ Plastician in the UK at Wendy House Studios. He played me a few tracks and what came to be my single "Brand New" stuck out to me the most. I loved his chill vibe, his approach to music and the collaboration as a whole.

What tips and advice do you have for young people in the scene?
As a youth, you should always stay true to what inspires you even if you have to sacrifice and do what ever it takes to fulfill your dream-- whatever that may be. Too many people give up and let life consume them and you never want to think "what if."

What have you got planned for the future?
Right now I am working on my next project. It's in the very barest of stages and I am ready to create yet again and looking forward to the outcome. I'm painting an art series and still working on television and film projects in Hollywood which keeps me on my toes artistically. Look out for the "Brand New" Remix official video on my Vevo page and soon to come the official video for "Let Go".

Any last words?
Thanks for the luv and support and you can follow me on Twitter.com/ShvonaLavette, Facebook.com/ShvonaLavette and Instagram.com/ShvonaLavetteMusic. Be Blessed and Stay True, S

Missing You

Oooooh baby
I feel like, the music sounds better with you
Love might bring us back together

Come on babe, don't give up on us
Choose me and I'll show you love
Let me show you love

And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain

You're the only one that I want
Say that I'm the one that you want
You're the only one that I need
I can't stop this feeling

So many tears I've cried
You gave me back my pride
You are my joy each day
Run to me

You are the one for me
I need you to know you're my everything
For me there's nobody else
I love you so baby
