First State ft Fenja - Battle of Hearts

@blackholerec - Magik Muzik 1061-0

First State's previous single "Humanoid" harvested massive support and marked the successful trail he's been on since his release of "Holding On" with Max C, "Why So Serious", as recorded with the young Boston native Jake Shanahan and "Seeing Stars", which featured Sarah Howells.

Add to that First State's recent double mix compilation “The Whole Nine Yards 2: Jakarta - Amsterdam”, which was the ultimate result of a year of traveling the world, seeing new faces, visiting new places and hearing new music, and all that inspiration now clearly seeps through in his single releases and it's obvious that his sound is not just evolving into a new directions; it also consistently leads to one hit after the other.

"Battle Of Hearts" aims straight for the heart of those who dig First State's copious, trademark use of synths. Carefully composing his production around Fenja's luscious vocals, First State drops the beat a few times for calmly floating strings and guitar-like melody lines, preparing the dancers for when he brings the beat back. "Battle Of Hearts" is prime-cut, hands in the air, outdoor material that may well reach the top of the radio charts.

DMS12 & Lizzie Curious - Hold On Tight

Curiousity Club presents the slamming new single from DMS12 & Lizzie Curious. 'Hold On Tight' is a smoking' hot combination of Miami producer DMS12's infectious electro beats and super-sultry vocals from Lizzie Curious, with remixes from the Dolly Rockers (tech house stormer with an insanely good groove) and Matt Joko (anthemic, uplifting EDM with a powerful breakdown).

Kev Wright - So Nice

@blackholerec - Avanti 517-0

From spinning early breakbeat/rave tracks in Edinburgh’s institute of dance music The Venue in September of 1990, on to residencies at Edinburgh's legendary club night Sublime, Pivo Cafe and Low Gravity @ The Liquidrooms, Kev's unique fusion of deep and driving tech-styles has led him to become one of the respected figures within the Scottish club scene. Since 1993, his radio shows and guest mixes on Forth 1, Kiss FM, Beat 106, Fresh Air, BBC Radio Scotland, Clyde 1 and Dex FM have given him the opportunity to push his sound to an even wider audience.

Having played over 30 guest mixes on East/Central Scotlands premier station Forth 1 between 1993-95, he eventually moved on to present his own Saturday night show on Forth in 2002. He has released under his KPAXX guise and Kev Wright since 1999, with vinyl releases on Well Wicked, Addictive records and Plastic Fantastic, moving into the digital age with remixes and releases on Plusquam, Plastic Music, Adjust Recordings, Helevetica Noir, Fixate,Toxic Beats, Beat Therapy and Quanza from 2007 through to present day.

Debuting his new single “So Nice”, Kev now makes his first appearance on the Black Hole Recordings sub label Avanti. With his new single, Kev explores the edges where progressive begins and techno ends. Driving the entire track with a bass heavy combination of beats and synths, “So Nice” subtly gains momentum and almost reaches an hypnotic level. Definitely a sure shot for both genres, “So Nice” is the excellent cut for techno and progressive DJs.

Light Babies ft Wendy Starland - Queen Of Hearts

@blackholerec - Wildlife 681-0

Light Babies is the project of international dance music producer Micah
Lukasewich and rising house music star Chris LaPietra. Formally known as
"Tungsten & Wulfram" their previous releases have been played throughout
clubs the world over and have been supported by many of the worlds top DJs.
Chris and Micah's new sound, pushes the boundaries of what some may call
forward thinking progressive house music, launching it past previous
conceptions of the genre to heights of pure originality and moments which
challenge all of your senses and perceptions. With all of their music
already signed to Labels such as Stripped Recordings and Black Hole
Recordings ("Kids" and the "Cause & Effect EP), the Light Babies have
conceived a sound which not only pays homage to their past influences but
propels them further into the future of dance music itself.

"Queen of Hearts" was produced from an unreleased original by U.S. pop
artist Wendy Starland. Wendy is best known for discovering Lady Gaga and
landing her a production deal with Rob Fusari (Beyoncé, Jessica Simpson,
Whitney Houston, etc.) that resulted in major record- and publishing deals.
Wendy and Lady Gaga have written songs together over the years; Wendy also
worked with Moby on his Grammy nominated album "Last Night" and collaborated
with legends and Grammy winners such as Stephen Bishop, Tony Levin, Jerry
Marotta, Arturo O'Farrill, Oz Noy and Conductor Luisella Chiarini with the
A.C.O. Val Vibrata Symphony Orchestra in Abruzzo, Italy.

A fan of their music, Wendy decided to contact the Light Babies for a remix
of the track. The end result is "Queen Of Hearts", an addictive house track
with a subtle progressive twist to it. A strong drum program, reminiscent of
classic house anthems, serves as a rock solid foundation for some seriously
moody synth chords that blend seamlessly with Wendy Starland's vocals. The
undeniable underground feel of "Queen Of Hearts" should whet every DJ's
appetite for a peak time live set!

Joni & Jimi - Varg

@blackholerec - Fris 1334-0

With their debut single “Varg”, Joni & Jimi release an outstanding progressive track on the Fris! imprint as, what may well be, the precursor for a myriad of upcoming singles.

With a clear view on today’s progressive and an obvious influence from other big names in the genre, Joni & Jimi carve up an intense floor filler with “Varg”. Aimed for the darker live sets with a lower than average BPM, the track draws a strong relation to classic Global Underground mixes and lures everyone in with classic sounding TR-909 beats and crisp synth programming.

In the Alpha mix, Joni & Jimi delve even deeper into the strength of “Varg” and take the track way into the underground, stripping the original to its bare essence, giving the progressive DJs the perfect package for a smooth transition of both versions in their live sets.

Emilio Fernandez & DJ Feel - Diggin' This Feeling

@blackholerec - Magik Muzik 1044-0

Since the announcement of his upcoming debut album, Emilio Fernandez has returned to the studio for the consecutive release of singles from "Suite 16". Still the man behind the 2008 hit “Reynosa”, Emilio also delivered remixes of “Arabian Queen” by Kimito Lopez and “Till We See The Sun” by Blake Lewis. Emilio’s follow up singles “Let It Go” and “Saltillo” continued the success, later on followed by the recently released "Suite 16" album track “Closer To Me”.

About his new single "Diggin' This Feeling", which was produced in collaboration with DJ Feel, Emilio recently explained how the track was conceived: "I had received the vocals for this track before I started with the recording sessions for the album. I fired up the conversations with DJ Feel and proposed a collaboration. This finally led to one of the most climactic titles on "Suite 16". I still get really excited listening to the record. The vocal performance is excellent and it's especially DJ Feel's arrangement that receives the 'thumbs up' here."

And climactic is certainly true for “Diggin’ This Feeling”. With a strong, but clubby drum track, the single unwinds with subtle synth programming and bright vocals that reveal Emilio’s love for early house. Adding outstanding remixes by Timothy Allan & Mark Loverush and Fred Baker to the original version, “Diggin’ This Feeling” is ready to storm the clubs.

Cosmic Gate - Crushed

@blackholerec - Black Hole 551-1

Highly anticipated by the dedicated followers of Nic and Bossi's productions as one of the exclusive tracks on the legendary Trance Nation series mixed by Cosmic Gate, "Crushed" now makes its way to the dance floors in the Mark Sixma remix.

Mark Sixma's approach of the original version reaches the levels of plate-tectonics , only counterbalanced with Cosmic Gate's original synth breaks bringing back the track to the realms of trance. Stacking up his seismic beats on top of grinding electro stabs and thundering sweeps, Sixma also gives the sub-bass fanatics something to marvel over.

True to the intense melody line of the original version of "Crushed", Mark Sixma rearranges the build up with hammering string lines awash in reverb that gives "Crushed" its massive, pile driving energy, definitely turning it into probably the biggest outdoor track for this year's ruling festivals.

J-Soul - Glace EP

@blackholerec - Black Hole 558-0

J-Soul, better known as Andrey Zhavoronkov, is a young DJ/producer from Russia who was signed to Moonbeam's own label Moonbeam Digital in 2010. His early singles, from which the first one was released in 2008, initially appeared on Anjuna Beats, Freestyle and Akustika. During that time Andrey delivered an impressive list of remixes for others and joined forces with Blackfeel White on "Indi Space" and with Re-Zone on "Shizzy Disko". For this brand new "Glace EP", J-Soul entered the studio by himself and proudly presents the tracks "Glace" and "Placed In The Dark".

The "Glace EP" is a set of uncompromising progressive singles for the deeper and definitely hours-long live sets. Bringing the full soundscape of his productions sharply into focus, one can't help but race to the dance floor when the DJ puts either "Glace" or "Placed in Dark" on. Where the synth programming of "Glace" brings a cool summer breeze on top of almost acoustic sounding drums to the audience, "Placed In The Dark" indeed brings an intensely percussive, dark track that refers to the magic of producers like James Holden, Sasha and Digweed. Get yourself the "Glace EP" today and add these well structured gems to your tracklist.

Modern Machines - We Are The Night

@blackholerec - Black Hole 559-0

Modern Machines is an electronic house duo based in New York City. Also known under their real names Dimitry Mak and Kapla, the two are seasoned producers that have spent the last half decade cutting their teeth on the sounds of New York City's music scene. In 2011, Modern Machines began producing tracks together, which later led to remixes for major labels and independent artists such as The Knocks, Creep, Kaiser Chiefs, and The Mynabirds. Receiving hugely positive response to the release of their remixes on Beatport and iTunes, the guys are steadily moving towards more releases in the nearby future.

Presenting their debut track "We Are The Night" on the Black Hole imprint, Modern Machines exhibit a sound that mixes tiny splashes of trance with thick layers of electro house. Expressing tons of gusto for the rougher kinds of EDM, "We Are The Night" powers up the clubs with bass-fueled synths, subtle vocals and a frantic melody; a killer that'll have everyone ride the groove until the sun comes up. With a single like this, there’s no doubt that the Modern Machines rule the night as well.

Alex Kunnari - Lifter

@blackholerec - In Trance We Trust 595-0

>>>EARLY SUPPORT BY TIËSTO!

Alex Kunnari's career in the electronic dance industry spans more than 20 years. Looking back on an impressive back catalogue of outstanding singles like "Eternity", "Rising" (with Heikki L.), "You & Me" (ft. Emma Lock), "Sweet Melody" (ft. John Hall), "Taste The Sun" (ft. Ben Andreas), "Colors" and countless others, he will probably always be remembered for the incredible success he harvested with "Lifter".

>From its early promo stages on, the track took the world by storm and was hammered by Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules and many others for months on end. Up to this day the ruling names behind the decks still play "Lifter" in all thinkable variations and remixes and Alex Kunnari's classic now sees the release of two brand new 2013 remixes by Tom Fall and Maison & Dragen.

Tom Fall opened Pandora's electro house box for the original version and allows the beats to take turns with pounding dubstep breaks in-between. Faithful to the original melody line he still expands to the tech side, creating a version suitable for the stadium sized events. Maison & Dragen's version earned the maximal house seal of approval, overhauling "Lifter" into a hard smasher for the big rooms.
