The Beat Corporation ft Alison Bethune & Natasha Sky - You Don't Know

ChampionRecords’s avatarThe Beat Corporation are a group of artists that came together to create music with no limitations. Based in Manchester UK, Tyler Daley & Jody ‘Jodz’ Spence are both established producers & songwriters in their own right and share a common goal which to make effective club music that has no boundaries. From Deep house/Nu disco/soulful house/Dance & Electro with deep heavy basslines the vibe is reminiscent of the old school House and Garage era they grew up in with melodies playing a big part in the sound.

A big coup for the boys was when their track ‘Elevation’ was played in a Disclosure & Zed Bias back to back at Warehouse in Manchester. Their biggest profile remixes are for Roy Davis Jr, Omar, Zed Bias, Ghetto n MC Nasty and more. Continuing their incredible progression, later this year The Beat Corporation have been confirmed to play at the Glastonbury festival in Bez's Acid House tent.

‘You Don’t Know’ is a cover of the classic RnB record by 702, originally released in 1999 & became a dancefloor smash in the UK Garage 2step scene shortly after. The 2014 cover features vocalists Alison Bethune & Natasha Sky, whom the Beat Corp both met locally in Manchester. Alison Bethune has been involved in various tracks across different genres, with her vocal often described as soulful and sultry. Natasha Sky is a 22year old singer-songwriter from Manchester. She is in the process of recording her first album which features well known musicians such as Aziz Ibrahim from the Stone Roses & Simply Red.

Lending itself to the current UK House invasion, ‘You Don’t Know’ promises to be in every DJ’s box in time for the summer, with a powerful remix package to follow soon.

Leanne Louise - Count My Blessings EP

I haven't enough positive words for Leanne, she is amazing and such an inspiration. I've had the pleasure of hearing her progression since she started out. The first time I heard her voice was through her also musically talented producer of a brother RDubz, on a track called Crazy. At that instant, I fell in love with her vocals. Through her journey her fans have grown stronger & stronger and more people are getting to know her voice which is beyond super because she is not only talented, she also has such a kind heart and deserves every single positive aspect in the music career. I have no doubt she will achieve great things and you should all get listening! This is her very first EP!! So please support her, enjoy her voice, and keep an eye out for more to come!

Count My Blessings - EP, Leanne Louise

Untitled
Now you may think she ran out of imagination for the title but as you listen you shall realise it is all justified. This track showcases the depth of her vocals with an urban edge, and a really interesting rhythm which has me hooked!

Save Your Heart
A lovely smooth piece. Nice tones on the strings which accompany the gorgeous soft sweet vocals.

No More
Love, this beautiful track shows not just Leanne's soft but strong vocals, it gives a little insight into her lovely soul.

Glass House
This track has a slighter darker tone, highlighting her soft tones with equally soft melodies. Bouncing them off  nicely against rough punchy vocals.

Count My Blessings
rhythmic delight with the vocals, yet with a smooth undertone of the melody.

Leanne Louise.. The lady who will make you smile :)

Bozie Talks To ... DEVLIN

Cover photo@DevlinOfficial. So my music friend @mrbozie has joined the world of blogging and will be interviewing the hottest people in the music industry! Here is a snippet of his first Q&A with international artist Devlin.

What age were you when you first picked up a mic?
I started writing at about the age of 12 and was getting on the mike in friends houses and local pirate stations at 14.

Who was your inspiration?
I can't pin it down to one person, but everything from Motown, Bruce Springsteen, Slim Shady ,OT, Nasty crew and Big Pun etc

Was it easy coming into a scene that was pretty overflowed with talent with the likes of Wiley, Ghetts, Wretch 32, Crazy Titch etc?
Nothing worth having comes easy, but healthy competition just drove me to try and better myself as much as possible and I was lucky to have talented people around me to increase my drive.

Superhand - Discipline Me

MBR001 - purchase on iTunes / Beatport.

Discipline Me by Superhand featuring a “dizbusting” remix by Rednek. Debut release from Superhand & Malt Barn Recordings from the hills of mid Wales.

“A thrilling boundary-busting meld of rock, electronica, blues and soul, ‘Discipline Me’ teams singer Inga Carlstrom and principal instrumentalist Leck Fischer with a vastly experienced crew: Jason Cooper of The Cure is on drums (band friend Duane Atherly plays bass) with Mike Mason (formerly of 4AD label luminaries Swallow) producing and Cameron Craig (Placebo, UNKLE, Amy Winehouse) the Grammy-winning engineer.” (Martin Aston)

“I grabbed my coat, but a monstrous bass line rabbit-punched me in the back of the head and a voice made me weak at the knees. I ordered another drink and witnessed the best performance I’ve seen in years.” (Mike Mason)

Sire FNS - April / May 2014

Introducing young Hip Hop and R&B artist Sire FNS, with his versatile vocals ranging between a softer smooth tone to lyrical madness on the mic. Nominated for 3 San Antonio Music Awards 2014: Best New Artist, Best Hip Hop Artist & Best R&B Artist - VOTE.

Christopher (SIRE) Cyr is an American R&B/Hip Hop Artist based out of San Antonio, Texas. Born May 10th 1995 in Fayetteville, and raised into Music.

Sire's passion for music led him to experiment with multiple styles and genres ultimately developing an affection for R&B and Hip Hop. Influenced by Drake throughout his upbringing Sire began to do his own renditions and remixes to Drakes music. He began creating a buzz in the local music scene and at the same time became somewhat of an outcast in the predominately Country/Rock run Music Town of Fayetville. Soon thereafter, Sire switched schools to E.E. Smith where he began pursuing talent shows and gaining notoriety for his unique blend of soulful singing and rapping. His father being in the military and working for the Department of Defense, soon had to move the family to San Antonio. Once again Sire was in a new location but music was calling and he soon met up with renowned music producer Andre "FNS" Johnson of Fresh New Sound Music. Immediately hearing his talent Sire was soon under the Fresh New Sound Music Banner and began taking his music to a different level.

In Fayetteville,Sire attended several schools but it was at Northwood Temple Academy where he developed his love of music, inspired by his band teacher, Mr. Wright. Sire then went on to succeed in music learning to play multiple instruments including the Saxophone, Percussion, Trombone and eventually the Guitar.

Sire has perforned in over 15 shows since the new year including performances in front of the Legendary Rockwilder (Roc-Nation, Jay Z producer), OG Ron C and DJ Pain 1 at 2014 SXSW in Austin TX and generated great interest in the music industry.

The Freestylers ft Fast Eddie - The Sound

Hey 2014, '88 called - they want their frequency back!!

Well, too bad! They ain’t getting it anytime soon because with ‘The Sound’, those incorrigible, irrepressible Freestylers have performed an extreme dawn-of-house-music hijack!

Having already locked down an ironclad club conqueror with January’s drum&bass-fest 'Falling', Aston Harvey & Matt Cantor are back to the frontlines in the blink of an eye. Joining the ranks for this ’88 channeling ride is none other than the legendary Acid housemaster himself, Fast Eddie, who fires up with 'The Sound' with his infectious microphone ministrations.

With its acid turning, burning and generally thundering (pushing those PH levels through the roof), the Original Mix of ‘The Sound’ has Freestylers firing the late Eighties sound through the 2014 prism. With future-shocking M1 piano lines, super-hard claps, 808 drum rolls and more tweakin’, peakin’, speaker-freakin’ 303 than is conventionally healthy, they prep the stage for Fast Eddie. With the hip-house master in full lyrical flow, collectively they pull off the one big sonic Jack-attack!

Reverends of Rave and Mad Masters of break-core, respected early 90’s outfit Blapps Posse (AKA the ‘Stylers own Aston Harvey & Jason Carter from Ninja Tunes’ Mad Doctor X & London Funk) serve the first of the mixes.

Less throwback/all throw-down, they fast-forward (or rewind depending on how you look at it) ‘The Sound’ to '92. Sweeping, chest bursting rave chords, subby bass, MC vox drops (sampling their own underground classic ‘Bus' It - Its Time To Get Bzy’) and the filthiest, dirtiest, wickedest breaks heard in years all conspire across a pair of killer mixes.

Getting every bit as much into the spirit, Sweden’s Zoo Brazil drops a classically themed deep house groove under ‘The Sound’. Keeping the acid on a slow rolling churn, (think Mr. Fingers ‘Washing Machine cut, kitted and retrofitted with 2014 technology & techniques), know you’ve never heard something so deep sound quite so uplifting!

Elfsong - Seldarine

Our next release is a highlight from Solarstone’s ‘Pure Trance 2’ compilation, which combines a mesmeric choral and pad driven breakdown with pin-sharp synth riffs and a sophisticated arrangement, which delivers in spades on the dancefloor. First up on the remix tip is Bucharest’s Almar, fresh from remixing Solarstone’s classic ‘Seven Cities’ for Armada and his own ‘Evening Star’ release on Touchstone Recordings, Almar takes ‘Seldarine’ down a warm and fuzzy eyes-closed trance remix with the pure spirit intact. Adding something deeper to this package is Empress Recordings head honcho Danny Stubbs, with a remix which references those classic Northern Exposure releases from yesteryear with its hypnotic groove and bassline. Three strong mixes that cater to DJs from across the Pure Trance spectrum.

Written, composed, arranged and produced by Krisztian Kertesz.

Josh Butler - No Frills EP

MadTech Records’s avatar
The Northern England up and comer on the tip of everyone’s tongue, Josh Butler, drops the ‘No Frills’ EP via Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records.

Josh Butler’s been steadily bubbling away on the British underground for quite some time now, and it seems 2014 is going to see Butler truly shine with a busy touring schedule already locked in for the year. Material on Love Not Money and OFF Recordings further brought to light Josh’s talents and now the Leeds based producer joins the MadTech roster, following the footsteps of Celsius, Mia Dora and No Artificial Colours in the rise to stardom.

Kicking off the single is title track ‘No Frills (Dub)’, which sees Butler play off a rugged, strippedback rhythm, built around a classic 4/4 foundation, while popping percussion, warbling dub-tinged bass and infectious vocal murmurs meander around the drums. Creating a hypnotic, undeviating groove, given an even more striking affect when menacing synth sweeps draw the attention away from it sporadically. The end result is a refined contemporary roller designer for the dance floor.

Then on the latter half of the single we have ‘Like This’, staying on a similar tip with loose beats and shuffling snares driving the record. While a hooky sub bass drives the energy and an undeniably catchy vocal line uttering ‘the beat goes like this’ adds a further widespread, modern appeal to the cut.

Supported by Pete Tong, Tensnake,Dusky, Friend Within and more.

T4L - Good Nightmare

@blackholerec - In Trance We Trust 621-0

T4L definitely deliver a ‘Good Nightmare’ with their great new release on In Trance We Trust. The original already is a fierce trancer, but the guys kick it up a notch in their Rave mix.

Alessandro Carusi and Manuel Toso are the masterminds behind T4L. Growing up in Italy, without a real trance scene they tried realizing their dreams by producing tracks together. Their first solo work was released on the In Trance We Trust imprint as well.

After Tiësto played their remix of Nyana during his sets for nearly a year and gave it a spot on his 'Just Be Remixed Edition' the two Italians had their breaktrough.

Besides producing T4L are also two talented DJ's making an electronic travel through techno trance with house and progressive influences.

Tomson & Fyza - Elevate

Tone Control Music’s avatarTone Control Music return to your ears with a collaboration from electronic deep house producer, Tomson and soul songstress, Fyza. Determined lyrics, and analogue chords cruise along live bass in a future boogie styled original, while Tomson provides house-heads a darker dance floor version in his self styled dub. Zed Bias engineered the recording, and Matthew Bandy set the faders right, to make this 16th, all original, Tone Control Music release.

Tomson is most notably known for his work on Freerange, Huddtraxx, Morris Audio, Kolour, Illusion, Urban Torque and his own we_ctrl label among many others. In a relatively short career, his productions have received support from DJ's such as Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Deetron, Paul Woolford and BBC Radio 1's Mosca. As a resident DJ at Manchester's infamous Development parties, Tomson played alongside luminaries such as Masters at Work, Ron Trent, Lil' Louis, Danny Krivit, Kerri Chandler, Dixon, Larry Heard and many others. Taking his influences in equal measure from soul and hip hop as deep house and techno, Tomson's music comfortably morphs together inspirations old and new.

Singer, songwriter, vocal producer and make-up artist, Fyza is a truly multi-talented creative. Fyza has been established as a UK soul artist in her own right, releasing a consistent flow of music since the 90’s, with underground hits such as “Poetical Love”. Moving into House music circles in recent years, Fyza has worked with producers such as Zed Bias (as Phuturistix), DJ Kawasaki (Kyoto Jazz Massive, EMI Japan), and Phil Asher for his singles “Look at What We’ve Done” (Archive) and “Take Me Away” (Mn2s). Fyza writes and produces vocals for several up and coming artists on both sides of the Atlantic, and has worked with The Black Opera in Detroit.

Written by Tom Lynch and Fyza Saleh, published by Tone Control Music. All instruments by Tom Lynch except Bass by Joel D Allison and Moog by J Castle. Vocals by Fyza Saleh. Engineered by Zed Bias.
